ASEE Delivers SEPA Compliance for 14 Banks in Serbia

Published On: June 16th, 20261 min read

ASEE has successfully completed the SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) implementation for 14 banks in Serbia, with all clients going live simultaneously on the same day — meeting the required regulatory deadline without exception.

Serbia’s entry into the SEPA ecosystem is a significant milestone for the country’s financial sector. SEPA enables fast, secure, and standardized euro payments across 36 European countries, reducing transaction costs, accelerating settlement times, and opening the door to deeper integration with European markets — allowing Serbian banks to compete on equal footing within the continent’s payment landscape.

The project was the result of thorough preparation and close collaboration with each client, with all 14 institutions going live on the same day. The implementation brings together the Financial Gateway platform — ASEE’s trusted SaaS infrastructure, extended to support SEPA — and key enhancements within core banking systems. This unified and seamlessly integrated setup enables efficient end-to-end processing of SEPA Credit Transfers (SEPA CT), ensuring full alignment with SEPA rules while naturally complementing existing internal business processes

By enabling SEPA compliance in Serbia and establishing a scalable foundation for future payment modernization initiatives, this project further strengthens ASEE’s position as a regional provider of advanced payment and financial technology solutions.
