ASEE Supports Montenegro’s Move to Instant Payments
ASEE has successfully implemented its TIPS Clone Financial Gateway solution for banks in Montenegro, supporting the country’s transition to instant payments available 24/7. Integrated with banks’ core systems and the new national instant payment infrastructure, the solution enables transactions to be processed within seconds, while helping banks meet regulatory requirements and deliver faster, more efficient payment services to their customers.
Delivered in close cooperation with participating banks and the Central Bank of Montenegro, the project was completed within a remarkably short timeframe, on schedule and within budget. Its successful rollout, with no reported production defects after go-live, reflects the strong partnership, trust, and commitment of everyone involved, while demonstrating ASEE’s expertise in delivering complex, business-critical payment infrastructure and reinforcing our position as a trusted technology partner for the financial sector across the region.
Milovan Sofranac, UCB Bank: “Universal Capital Bank AD, in cooperation with its long-standing technology partner ASEE, has successfully implemented the TIPS Clone Financial Gateway Solution within its core banking system, enabling the Bank to successfully connect to the instant payment system introduced in Montenegro in July 2026. The project involved the implementation of highly demanding and complex functionalities, many of which represented entirely new requirements for banks in Montenegro. These challenges were further amplified by the very tight implementation timelines and the need to deliver and adapt the required functionalities within a short period of time.
Throughout the project, the ASEE team demonstrated a high level of professionalism, responsiveness, flexibility, and commitment, consistently striving to address the Bank’s requirements and requested changes within the shortest possible timeframes.
On behalf of Universal Capital Bank, we would particularly like to highlight the availability, professionalism, expertise, and courtesy of the ASEE colleagues involved in the project. Their support and commitment were highly valuable not only throughout the implementation phase but also during the post-implementation period, ensuring a smooth transition and continued support following the successful go-live.
Universal Capital Bank highly appreciates the cooperation with ASEE and looks forward to continuing this successful partnership in future projects.”
Luka Uskokovic, NLB Banka: “From NLB Bank’s perspective, the project was very well managed, with clear coordination and high-quality test scenarios that contributed to a smooth and stable go-live. Strong cooperation between all parties was key to delivering this important milestone on time and with a high level of quality. Instant payments are already bringing tangible benefits to our clients and citizens, providing a faster, simpler, and more convenient payment experience.”
Enes Kurpejović, Ziraat Bank: “The TIPS Clone project was a complex and strategically important initiative delivered within a highly demanding timeframe. ASEE demonstrated strong expertise, commitment, and responsiveness in implementing the required functionalities across our core payment systems, Financial Gateway, and digital banking channels. Their close cooperation and support throughout testing, go-live, and the initial production period played a decisive role in the successful introduction of instant payments in Montenegro. This project has once again demonstrated that we can rely on the ASEE team as a trusted technology partner in aligning with European standards, developing new solutions, and advancing our digital transformation.”
Snezana Buric, Prva Banka: “The TIPS Clone project, enabling instant payments in Montenegro, represents one of the most significant project experiences in my career to date, primarily due to its importance, complexity, and the pace at which it was delivered. Within a very short timeframe, and in the context of numerous new regulatory requirements and challenges that had to be addressed and aligned throughout implementation, ASEE and Prva Banka successfully met the project’s demands through highly professional and collaborative cooperation. I would particularly highlight the commitment of the ASEE team and their involvement in every aspect of the implementation, from analysing regulatory requirements to jointly defining and implementing solutions. I am proud of the results we achieved together and of the important step forward we have made in advancing modern payment services in Montenegro. This experience has further confirmed ASEE as a reliable and highly competent partner for future complex and strategically important projects.”
