The e-commerce payment ecosystem in Serbia is entering a new phase of enhanced and secure user experience, with DinaCard 3DS (3D Secure) emerging as a key standard for modern online authentication.

At the initiative of the National Bank of Serbia, secure online payments using Dina payment cards have been enabled through the implementation of 3DS verification, further strengthening the level of protection and trust in digital transactions.

Following successfully completed activities and joint implementation efforts, the first banks are already live in production, Banka Poštanska štedionica, ALTA Banka a.d. Beograd, and OTP Banka Srbija, demonstrating that the market recognizes the value of a modern and secure approach to authentication through the DinaCard 3DS standard.

This transformation goes beyond mere regulatory compliance and brings a significant improvement in user experience: safer, faster, and simpler online shopping.

The project has been realized through the joint efforts of teams from banks and companies ASEE, Payten, and Chip Card Ltd Belgrade, further confirming the strength of partnership collaboration in developing key digital payment infrastructure in Serbia.

At the same time, the implementation of a modern authentication model through Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) is underway, further enhancing the security of online payments, primarily through the gradual transition from SMS OTP (One-Time Password) to more advanced and secure verification methods.
