When it comes to fintech innovation in the SEE region, Money Motion continues to set the standard. Held at the Zagreb Fair, the event gathered over 2,500 attendees and more than 700 companies, featuring four stages and a bustling expo zone filled with 20 startup booths.

Backed by key sponsors including ASEE, Monri and Payten, who also co-founded the conference, Money Motion 2025 offered a dynamic space for tackling the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly evolving industry.

From AI and digital identity to the next generation of payments and online shopping, the program covered the issues that matter most. Among this year’s speakers were six representatives from ASEE Group, who shared their insights across various panels and formats.

From Zero to Industry Hero

In a candid fireside chat titled “From Zero to Industry Hero: How to Build a Market Leader,” ASEE’s CEO Piotr Jelenski reflected on the company’s evolution and the mindset that fuels its growth. He shared how rapid decision-making and decentralized autonomy within ASEE allow each market to move quickly, while staying aligned with long-term strategy. This approach, he noted, has been key to ASEE’s resilience and continued success.

Banking in 2030: Vision and Strategy

Moderating the panel “What Will Banking Look Like in 2030?” Igor Gržalja, President of the Management Board at ASEE SOLUTIONS Croatia, led a high-level conversation on what’s next for the financial industry. The discussion touched on AI in banking, embedded finance, and evolving customer expectations. The takeaway? The future of banking is both digital and human, and balancing innovation with trust will be critical in the years ahead.

The Future of Payments

Opening the “Future of Payments” panel, ASEE’s Damir Čaušević set the tone by highlighting how fast the industry continues to evolve. From tokenized and embedded cards to the rise of instant payments, the session explored key forces transforming the payments space. Damir also emphasized the importance of fraud prevention and data-driven personalization, pointing to user experience as the ultimate differentiator in a crowded market.

AI in Action: Unlocking Smarter Financial Decisions

Zvonimir Mavretić, BPM International Delivery Director at ASEE, took part in two panels focused on the real-world impact of AI in finance. In “From Documents to Decisions,” he discussed how AI is helping teams work smarter—not replacing people, but enhancing decision-making and productivity. Later, on a panel about strategic AI integration in banking, Zvonimir stressed that the real opportunity lies in unlocking the value of data banks already have. With the right mindset and tools, AI becomes infrastructure—not just a trend.

Cybersecurity in the Age of AI

ASEE’s Željka Jurić, Product Manager, moderated the panel “Identity Theft in the AI Era: The New Rules of the Game.” The session explored how AI is both a threat and a defense tool in modern cybersecurity. While AI is being used by attackers to gather data and launch more targeted attacks, it also empowers security teams to respond faster and more effectively. The conversation underscored the need to move away from traditional passwords and adopt advanced methods like passkeys and behavioral analysis. As NIS2 regulation looms, the message was clear: cybersecurity is a shared responsibility.

What’s Driving Online Shopping and Payments?

Finally, in a session on the “Key Drivers of Online Shopping & Payments,” ASEE’s Maja Fočić, Project Manager at Monri, led a panel examining what today’s consumers really expect. With Gen Z leading the charge, online shoppers now demand instant refunds, seamless mobile wallets, and no-friction checkout. Maja steered the discussion toward one core truth: convenience and speed are no longer bonuses—they’re the baseline.
